a slow tuesday Songtext
von flatheadstanley

I saw God
In a fluorescent light
Above the counter in a sandwich store
He flickered twice
While I made my order
I couldn′t tell you what that meant

Ham and cheese and a side of dread
Searching for answers in a slice of bread

The cashier yawned
Like she's seen it all before
And maybe she has and I′m not aware
That gods show up
At 11:16
During a slow Tuesday service

And they just stand there fluorescent and wordless
And I just stand there hungry and nervous
