Is it watching?

Is it waiting?
Can it reach me?

Buried deep
There she waits
Feeding on souls lost to envy and pain
All who sleep
None shall wake
All of them dragged to a terrible fate


Blackened-onyx carapace
Impervious to harm
A perfect, dark
Work of art
As you struggle with your breath
Deep flesh torn in barbed web
A venom gold crawls in your chest

Nebulous eyes gaze on a traveller cold
The frozen ocean, a vessel sails
Are they lost
Is it me?

Buried deep
There she waits
