Drawn into the lonely night
In darkness we dwell
In a frozen land
Searching for a soul
To witness the spell
Of blinding snowfall

The frozen wind numbs my soul
Leaving behind just an empty husk

The lonely trees and the ghostly glow
Haunt the fresh fields
Of freezing snow
Left bare and dead long ago
Unable to breath
In Winter′s woes

For these are things beyond control
And so such grandeur will take its toll


The longs days are now gone
Waiting for the eternal dawn
The river no longer flows
And the sun barely glows

As the flame finally fades
My blood freezes in my veins
And after the sudden storm
Silence reigns the now barren plains

Not a blade of grass nor flower fair
Dares penetrate the calming slush
Nor would a bear within its lair
Let loose a roar, for fear of the hush

For though the beauty, surreal and pure
Might be linked to an angel's breath
Still nature knows Winter well
As she sits astride the pale horse of death

But even the humble trees
Stand proud despite their lack of leaves
