Millionaires Songtext
von Eric Harrison

Millionaires Songtext

Where are the millionaires?
You know we need them now

In fallow fields we wait for rain
And bang a tattered drum
Baying for the cavalry won′t come

So sick and sound we trickle down
To pool around your feet
When just a word could make a life complete

Where are the millionaires?
You know we need 'em now

A populist just getting pissed
To do nothing about it
I wanna grab the truth right now and shout it

Behind the rope he′ll interlope
With a megaphone and a bag of dope
Did he make a point? Somehow I doubt it...

Where are the millionaires?
You know we need 'em now

Ignorance ignites a fear that hardens into hate
Feed the farce ignore the sense and I'll away
A bludgeoning, a bloodletting beyond a gilded gate
The great divide will grow between the highs and lows
And a line we gotta toe

A telescope dead aim on hope
The arrow in your eye
Was all we ever lived for just a lie?

′Cause if we knew what living looked like
We might stay at home
Our keyboard war will not be fought alone

Where are the millionaires?
You know we need ′em
Where are the millionaires?
You know we need 'em now
