Blackleg Miner Songtext
von Eric Fish

It′s in the evening, after dark
When the blackleg miner creeps to work
With his moleskin pants and his dirty shirt
There goes the blackleg miner
It's in the evening, after dark
When the blackleg miner creeps to work
With his moleskin pants and his dirty shirt
There goes the blackleg miner
He takes his picks and down he goes
To hew the coal that lies below
There′s not a woman lives on the row
That won't look at the blackleg miner
The devil and his devilish ways
Have brought one clay to the blackleg's face But it′s only dirty for the race
To catch the blackleg miner
So join the union while you may
Don′t cry on your dying days
And not set out so far away
You dirty blackleg miner
Blackleg miner
Blackleg miner
Blackleg miner
It's in the evening, after dark
When the blackleg miner creeps to work
With his moleskin pants and his dirty shirt
There goes the blackleg miner
