Conventional Songtext
von Emma Jayne

Conventional Songtext

What′s it like to be conventional?
Acceptable to any eye?
Something about her's so respectable
Exceptional without trying

Summer camp was the great equalizer
All the girls in cotton shorts and tees
When we came back to the real world
I missed that laid back androgyny

Can′t the world see that the tomboy's just as pretty?
Lost her somewhere along the way I should've kept her with me

What′s it like to be conventional?
Acceptable to any eye?
Something about her′s so respectable
Exceptional without trying

Middle school was like the great divide
Be a freak or join the straight and narrow
I told my best friend to change her boyish ways
When girlhood hit me like a poison arrow

Now I know there's more to life than being pretty
I′m so sorry that it took so long to finally hit me

I don't wanna be conventional
Acceptable to any eye
What′s the use of being respectable
How exceptional am I?
How exceptional am I?
