SNOWFLAKES Songtext

SNOWFLAKES Songtext
Snowflakes
They weren′t, of course it was rain
But rain soft, light, drifting so lazily through
The streetlight that i'd assume they were sleepwalking
I had run away from you, ducked into a
Bathroom, and
When i left my nest, there I saw
Snowflakes
Grey night heartbreak offwhite
Ceiling panels and walls paper towel strewn on the floor
I squint and smell cigarette smoke deposited by some fellow monk
Searching for a temple to solitude
I wash my face, and the eyeliner runs ambient
Seeping beneath my feathers and diffusing under the bags
Deposited by years of sleepless nights
I call
I call and cry and whimper to you I claim it′s to whoever above might
Hear me but I know they can't hear me
I hope, beyond reason, walls, and this godforsaken cigarette smell
That you can hear me
They weren′t, of course it was rain
