Perfect Songtext

Perfect Songtext

It aches and moans
The skin you own
You should have known
That you′d be stuck in this for many moons to come
I'm not a scientist but from the looks of it
You sure have got a long way to run

It creaks and groans
The house you own
It′s all alone
Just like the old Six Flags five minutes down the block
Out in New Orleans east where all the streets have tongues
A rural rat with safehouse funds

Somewhere down two blocks from here
Cracked pipes are heating up where a hooker fell in love
Somewhere someone's wishing that they could just give up
'Cause the wind breathes just enough
Hopeless hands feel forgotten love
When a person′s blind to think
What would you expect from someone steadily too hard to trust?

You got that permanent big scar under your left eye
From the dog you had when you were young
But now he′s dead and you're still hanging on

You keep reaching for the sky
With no depression to reason why
For the beast that eats the pain
And if you let it, it′ll eat you up
To let the frozen spit spit back all the guilt

Houses faint as they together
It's a phase in the Arctic weather
The walls break the bones and the trees
And they keep you up nights wondering why you would lay here again

Was it worth it?
Here is perfect
