Balcony View Songtext

Balcony View Songtext

Nine floors up, concrete cold
Balcony rail, a little old
I light a smoke, I breathe it slow
Below me, lights in silver rows
There′s mansions blinking far away
Pools and gates and golf all day
But none of that would work or spin
Until these hands wear calloused skin

They play with stocks, I carry steel
They change the rules — I fight to live

From my balcony view
From my balcony view
I see the towers, I see the truth
I see the rich — but they don't see you
From my balcony view
From my balcony view
I built their world, I pay my dues
I′ve got no throne — but I've got the view

Alarm at six, I drink it black
Another shift, try not to crack
I patch their pipes, I fix their wires
I build their walls, I fight their fires
They dine in suits on marble floor
But it was me who built it all
And when the flood comes down the hill
Guess who they call to clean the spill

They play with stocks, I carry steel
They change the rules — I fight to live

From my balcony view
From my balcony view
I see the towers, I see the truth
I see the rich — but they don't see you
From my balcony view
From my balcony view
I built their world, I pay my dues
I′ve got no throne — but I′ve got the view

This world spins on backs like mine
Dust and sweat in every line
I don't need gold, I don′t need praise
Just one clean breath, and honest days

From my balcony view
From my balcony view
I see the towers, I see the truth
I see the rich — but they don't see you
From my balcony view
From my balcony view
I built their world, I pay my dues
I′ve got no throne — but I've got the view
