Weighted Blanket Songtext

Weighted Blanket Songtext
Railroad sounds and a weighted blanket
As a husk, post-emaciated
I am still anxious
Lashing out where I can′t see
Drawn into the whirlpool of compulsions
I remain lined with mirrors at the bottom of it all
Reflecting outward into whirling self-abandonment
Unable to love correctly
Not communicating with my family
Not eating well or regularly
When I was a child trying to sleep
I would often become aware
Of the spit in my throat
And be unable to stop swallowing
Other nights I would feel my own pulse
And be unable to differentiate it
From something I imagined was underneath my mattress
And waiting to kill me
Sometimes I would wander around the woods near my parents house and stare into the dimmest cluster of trees
Expecting something to be staring back
There has always been fear and it's unending
There has always been fear
As a husk, post-emaciated
I am still anxious
Lashing out where I can′t see
Drawn into the whirlpool of compulsions
I remain lined with mirrors at the bottom of it all
Reflecting outward into whirling self-abandonment
Unable to love correctly
Not communicating with my family
Not eating well or regularly
When I was a child trying to sleep
I would often become aware
Of the spit in my throat
And be unable to stop swallowing
Other nights I would feel my own pulse
And be unable to differentiate it
From something I imagined was underneath my mattress
And waiting to kill me
Sometimes I would wander around the woods near my parents house and stare into the dimmest cluster of trees
Expecting something to be staring back
There has always been fear and it's unending
There has always been fear
