Movin’ On Songtext
von Doc Watson

My old hound dog he was a-feelin′ fine
Until he fell in a barrel of turpentine
Now he's movin′ on
Yes, he done left home
He went through the gate like an 88
He's movin' on

We hired a man to work on our car
And he took hold of a spark plug wire
Now he′s movin′ on
Yes, he's movin′ on
Lord, he turned it loose when he felt the juice
He's movin′ on

My old tomcat was a-feelin' mean
And then he caught his tail in the sewing machine
Lord, he′s movin' on
He done left home
He ripped a stitch when he hit the ditch
He's movin′ on

We knowed a fella that came from the city
Then he picked up a little striped kitty
Now he′s movin' on
Yes, he′s movin' on
We held our nose while he buried his clothes
He′s movin' on

Old Uncle John, he got mighty clean
When he fell into the washing machine
He′s movin' on
Yes, he's movin′ on
He just couldn′t straddle that dadburn pedal
He's movin′ on
