Deep River Blues Songtext

Deep River Blues Songtext
And I thought, now, gimme just a minute, let′s see what else I can do
Let it rain, let it pour
Let it rain a whole lot more
'Cause I got them deep river blues
Let that old rain come on down
And wash my blues on out of town
I got them deep river blues
My old gal′s a sweet little pal
And she walks just like a waterfowl
When I get them deep river blues
I've ain't no one to cry for me
The fish all go out on a spree
When I get them deep river blues
Hey, give me back my old boat
I′m gonna sail if she′ll float
I got them deep river blues
I'm gonna run down to Mussel Shoals
Times are getting better there I′m told
'Cause I got them deep river blues
Well, if my boat sinks with me
I′m gonna go down, don't you see
Yes, I got them deep river blues
That rain come on down
And wash my blues on out of town
I got deep big river blues
Well, now I′m going to say goodbye
If I sink, boys, just let me die
I got them deep river blues
There ain't no one to cry for me
The fish all go out on a spree
When I get them deep river blues
'Course, in those square-dance days
That they would play the tune to the day as well
Not just old fiddle tunes, and this is one of those
A great big tune called "Bye-Bye Blues"
Oh yeah, they′d, they′d sometimes try to dance to this
This "Bye-Bye Blues," I guess it's very nice
And works pretty good, too
But them fiddle tunes were uh, uh I guess, hard to beat
Worried I′ve knocked about two strings out of tune
I got carried away on that Deep River Blues
Let it rain, let it pour
Let it rain a whole lot more
'Cause I got them deep river blues
Let that old rain come on down
And wash my blues on out of town
I got them deep river blues
My old gal′s a sweet little pal
And she walks just like a waterfowl
When I get them deep river blues
I've ain't no one to cry for me
The fish all go out on a spree
When I get them deep river blues
Hey, give me back my old boat
