In the summer your cheeks flower
Freckles like petals and a sunburned nose
Hanging around the back of the beach huts
Exploring like dogs on the trail of something sweet
I remember sand in the strawberries
Crunching in my teeth
Juice on my chin
Red stain on my white t-shirt
Then it rained and the beach turned polka dot

Your hands got cold
I blew hot air into your palms
Hot lemon and honey
We watched the sea fill up with stars
