Zeus and Apollo Songtext

Zeus and Apollo Songtext

Father, oh, father
I know you′re a god
And pulling 'round thunder and lightning is your job
But you always correct me
And say I′ve done wrong when we spend time together
It's supposed to be fun

Well, Apollo, Apollo, I am what I am
And these are the tools I have in my hand
As the bright flame does injure
Through wood as it burns
Some lessons, Apollo, are painful to learn

Tell me Zeus, my great father
Where did I come from?
And why am I an only son?

Well, Apollo, Apollo
Your mother and I
Are for holding up two different parts of the sky
But the gods did agree it, and planned it above
And they brought us together
Just one night in love and all Heaven did tremble
And walls did collapse
That's how you were born
As the stars align

How come I don′t see you?
Sometimes so long, even when you′re too busy
For father and son

Well, Apollo, these questions
Wise and aim to drew
And I wish I could answer them better for you
And I hope that you don't
But you′ll find out someday
That time's is an illusion
Upon a display

Well, dad I feel
I need to go and be on my own
For an age of a soul
I′m tired of pulling between two tides
I'm not strong enough yet
To bridge the divide

Take a rest now, Apollo
Don′t you worry your soul
Things will come back around
And the abandoned floor

Let the mountains between us
Think they broken the sea
But Zeus and Apollo
We always will be
