Fighting against itself

Mankind has convinced itself that it can bend
Distort and contain our very nature
That it can reimagine itself free from nature
That it can shape its own destiny
In the quest to become God
Mankind upholds a lie
A lie that will never be true
They try to distance themselves from reality
But the cycles of life and death enslave us
But some refuse to be slaves in life
