Stain Songtext
von Dead Man Ray
Stain Songtext
There are regions that you can′t define
But they are there
There are times when the grey turns black
And at the ceiling you stare
Makes you wonder why you don't care
But what does that do inside your head?
Does it stain you like I do?
As disposable as a free ride
Unless they stick like glue
Cruising low five
One day or another
Some stain will stick to you
There are scissor cutting cotton lines
Where the needle′s trade
There are needles in old stacks of hay
And there's no use in getting laid
And you'd burn it if you weren′t afraid
But what does that do inside your head?
Does it stain you like I do?
Do you keep it like a dog?
And if you do, do you pull the lead?
Or keep it as a feather
One way or another
That stain will color in blue
There are stairways climbing up to love
But the railing′s gone
I'm not a creator, feeds on every dove
I just smile when I see them come
That teddy bear could use a hug
What would you suggest?
Would you try to wash your stains?
I know a manhole that′s bigger than a sink
That I get on water
I've seen ovens that weren′t even pink
One way or another
That stain will wash off too
One way or another
You'll all be stained too
But they are there
There are times when the grey turns black
And at the ceiling you stare
Makes you wonder why you don't care
But what does that do inside your head?
Does it stain you like I do?
As disposable as a free ride
Unless they stick like glue
Cruising low five
One day or another
Some stain will stick to you
There are scissor cutting cotton lines
Where the needle′s trade
There are needles in old stacks of hay
And there's no use in getting laid
And you'd burn it if you weren′t afraid
But what does that do inside your head?
Does it stain you like I do?
Do you keep it like a dog?
And if you do, do you pull the lead?
Or keep it as a feather
One way or another
That stain will color in blue
There are stairways climbing up to love
But the railing′s gone
I'm not a creator, feeds on every dove
I just smile when I see them come
That teddy bear could use a hug
What would you suggest?
Would you try to wash your stains?
I know a manhole that′s bigger than a sink
That I get on water
I've seen ovens that weren′t even pink

That stain will wash off too
One way or another
You'll all be stained too
