He′s my ordinary bear
Underneath the stairs
I sometimes like to feed him bread and honey
He sleeps under our coats
Until the winter's over
My parents say that we should charge him money

But I think he should stay for free
I′m slowly teaching him to read
He finds it hard to turn the page
His paws are far too big for anything
Except for climbing trees

He's my ordinary bear
Underneath the stairs
He likes to give me rides to school each morning
There's no need to be scared of my ordinary bear
He only bares his teeth when he is yawning


But mostly he just sleeps right through
Until it′s summer and the sky′s turned blue
I take him out for walks with me
He says he likes my company

He likes to take a bath on Friday evenings
He likes to eat the soap
He thinks it makes him float
Who'd ever think that soap could be misleading

But he only likes the best shampoo
You know my mum uses the same one too
It gives him shiny, sleek, glossy hair
