Sarasota Lights Songtext

Sarasota Lights Songtext
Traffic crawling past St. Armands Circle
Valet whistles cutting through the blur
Couple from Chicago at the crosswalk light
Trying to catch the sunset before it dies
Kayaks stacked outside the old bait shop
Street violin playing in the parking lot
And the breeze off Siesta after dark
Makes the whole town glow with its own little spark
Everybody showing up for something tonight
Maybe that′s what keeps this place alive
Sarasota lights
Glow across the bay tonight
Ringling Bridge burning white and blue
Like it's pulling everybody through
Marina reflections moving with the tide
Open signs buzzing down the drive
Yeah this town comes alive after nine
Under Sarasota lights
Longboat headlights stretching in a line
Dinner crowds spilling out past closing time
A saxophone echoing off Main Street walls
Mixing with the traffic and the late-night calls
Mote Aquarium banners in the breeze
Salt stuck heavy in the palm tree leaves
And somewhere near the rooftop bars downtown
Somebody′s falling in love with this town
This is the kind of night you don't forget
Even before you know it's hit you yet
Sarasota lights
Glow across the bay tonight
Ringling Bridge burning white and blue
Like it′s pulling everybody through
Marina reflections moving with the tide
Open signs buzzing down the drive
Yeah this town comes alive after nine
Under Sarasota lights
From Siesta sand to the city blocks
Everybody chasing something they forgot
Maybe peace, maybe hope, maybe one good night
Maybe just a little of that Florida life
Sarasota lights
Shining on the waterline
Palm shadows dancing on the avenue
Like the whole coast learned a brand new move
Every window glowing warm tonight
Every stranger turning into part of the ride
Yeah somehow everything feels right
Under Sarasota lights
Valet whistles cutting through the blur
Couple from Chicago at the crosswalk light
Trying to catch the sunset before it dies
Kayaks stacked outside the old bait shop
Street violin playing in the parking lot
And the breeze off Siesta after dark
