Finding freedom

Some say it′s impossible

In our society, it's illegal

One man decided that neither of those things should matter
They call him the curse breaker

Born into a world where screens replace 90% of human interaction
And yet mass shootings still happen every day

His teeth as silver as the bullets
And hair as black as the average human heart


Some say he was sent here to break us all out of bondage
Others say he′s an example of how to break our own chains
But most of us are just trying not to choke
On the smell of teen suicide in the air
Too overwhelmed with grief to put our hope in some ancient prophecy

As for me though, I think he's real
Probably on a mountain somewhere, studying the word of God
Waiting for the right time to make himself known

I fear there's a war upon us. A war for our hearts
And I dream of a world where empathy reigns again

So if you′re out there, curse breaker, tell us your story
Awaken our hope
Time is of the essence
