Descent into Derangement Songtext

Entering a squalid place of emptiness
Within; I am the only soul to tread
No other has trod this path before me
And none shalt then follow in my stead

I have here a rusted key
Rusted and in decay; as it has seen no use

The ghastly asylum gates do stand tall before me
Unlocking the gates, a deep fear doth arise
Anticipation grows as I enter this desperate place
The grounds are foreboding, dark and sinister
Walls and corridors bedecked in suffering and lost hope

The cries of the lost
Echo all around
Yet the cries of the damned
Are all mine

Horror and torment - are all this grim and forbidding place knows
Yet the belonging and yearning to be here is strong
A grand decayed room; is where I shalt make my lonely bed
My stay here will be most welcomed; of this, I am sure

Only my voice
Resounds within these dank walls
And its foul words
Are harsh and uncompromising

Uncomfortable and unfamiliar
Yet a dread, comforting and known
This voice cuts deeper than bone
And with this conversing I am all alone

This chilling voice uncovers truths and falsities
And a spiraling sense of frightening realities
Descending into the deepest, dark caverns of the mind
And losing all sense of self; with all that I shalt find
