See that train coming over the horizon?
Well, it′s hugging those Magic Tracks on round the bend.
Well, I stopped at the station and made my reservation,
And now I'm welcoming that train like a long lost friend -
Like - a - long - lost -
Don′t know where I'll be waking up tomorrow.
Don't know where I′ll be laying my weary down at night.
Ah, but you see these Magic Tracks take me where they′re going,
And then they roll me on through the dark,
'Til the morning light - the morning light!
And if the points ahead are changing,
And we′re slowing...
Or if the station's jammed,
And we′ve just got to wait... Well, I'll find a bottle in my bag, that just needs opening.
Maybe we′ll talk a while,
And set the whole world straight...
Well, when I feel this free,
Feel it all come back to me...
Ah, do you remember,
Rolling into Berlin that day at daybreak?
That time we searched for a shop in the pouring roman rain?
When, in Istanbul we were received,
With all the promise of the East,
By an old man with a brown bear on a chain?
That bear - on his chain - was thinking -
What a crazy pair getting off that train!!!
