Saving It For You Songtext
von Chubb+Bits

Something funny happened on the way to work today
I reached to tell you and you weren′t there
I saved it in the back of everything I'm carrying
For when the distance finally feels fair

I have a list of things that I′ve been saving
A growing pile of moments meant for you
The ordinary news, the small discoveries
The kind of things that only you would find worth sharing too

I'm saving it for you
Every little thing that happens
I'm saving it for you
The stories and the laughs
I′m saving it for you
Because telling someone else
Feels like giving away something
That was always meant to last
Until it reaches you
I′m saving it for you

I walked past the place we always used to go to
And thought about the last time we were there
I took a photo of the window and the light in it
Another thing for you, another thing to share

The list is getting long now and I love it
Because it means that when we finally meet
I'll have a thousand things to put on the table
And the catching up will make the gap feel sweet

I′m saving it for you
Every little thing that happens
I'm saving it for you
The stories and the laughs
I′m saving it for you
Because telling someone else
Feels like giving away something
That was always meant to last
Until it reaches you
I'm saving it for you

One day soon I′ll tell you all of it
One day soon we'll sit until it's done
One day I′ll run out of things I′ve saved
And we'll be back to sharing everything as one

Saving it for you
All of it
Saving it
For you
