The Parlour Rollers Songtext

The Parlour Rollers Songtext
The parlour rollers of Valour Road
Huddled deep into the Winter′s fold
A pair of real squeakers once rolled 125 feet
1961, May the 9th, it's snowing
She will release them knowing
Like little grey dogs, they′ll never tire of rolling over
Betty runs to latch the gate
She's just a half a second too late
Duchess curls herself in a fierce standard roll down the back lane
When out of nowhere a glare of headlights catch a flash of ruby eyes
And she flies and falls
Just like a small grey stone
Skips and lands against a garbage can
Red King cries out and beats his wings against her
But she is already gone, she is already gone
He would not leave her side
For all his days and nights
The parlour rollers were buried side by each together, says Betty
Pigeons mate for life you know
Huddled deep into the Winter′s fold
A pair of real squeakers once rolled 125 feet
1961, May the 9th, it's snowing
She will release them knowing
Like little grey dogs, they′ll never tire of rolling over
Betty runs to latch the gate
She's just a half a second too late
Duchess curls herself in a fierce standard roll down the back lane
When out of nowhere a glare of headlights catch a flash of ruby eyes
And she flies and falls
Just like a small grey stone
Skips and lands against a garbage can
Red King cries out and beats his wings against her
But she is already gone, she is already gone
He would not leave her side
For all his days and nights
The parlour rollers were buried side by each together, says Betty
Pigeons mate for life you know
