Trouble Songtext

Trouble Songtext

Maybe it all began out on the schoolyard
I hit Benny in the stomach, he came back hard
Like a baby I cried in front of everyone
I saved my fist for myself from that day on

Trouble
I′m in trouble

And it worked pretty good 'til I was fourteen
I was popular then with everyone but me
On my bedroom floor with a head full of nothing
Except the ghost of a fist pounding on something

Trouble
I′m in trouble
Trouble
I'm in trouble

When my mama cries, I say, "Just hang on"
And I can't promise her that I′ll be ′round for long
When everyday I feel like a metaphor
For something literal that I was before
I blow the candles out and say, "One more year
And if I haven't changed, I′m getting out of here"
I'm in trouble, trouble, trouble

The bath is full, got a knife in my hand
Test the skin just to see if I can
Like a baby I cried at the thought of the slaughter
Throw the knife away, drain the water

Trouble
I′m in trouble
Trouble
I'm in trouble
Trouble
I′m in trouble
Trouble
I'm in trouble, trouble, trouble
Trouble
I'm in trouble
