Vision in the Verse Songtext

Vision in the Verse Songtext

Surely I′ll not see a thing as beautiful today
As the vision in the verse that I've just read upon the page
Imagine through a rhyme what it might be to touch a face
But falling from so far away I realize is strange
Desire she will fashion an army to impress
But no soldier in the flesh now will conquer or possess
Pleasure must be patient, with only words undress
I struggle through the sand, oh, but finally I slept

And I dreamt I grazed your lips last night so ever slight with mine
A feeling not unlike a body slipping through the tide
Seems I was surrounded by the sea green of your eye
And though we′ve never touched, it was too vivid to deny

And the sun will set again tonight
Oh, how I'll be surprised
How might I rephrase
And how'd I put it yesterday
If tomorrow be the same
What of time?

I walk along the same old street more silent every day
I′ve little for to offer and sometimes less to say
Rain lily lips, rosemary hair, but would it be okay
If spring she does the singing and I just smile while I wait

Solitude ain′t nothing new but this is of another kind
A longing that is sweeter than any other time
So different than I've done before, somehow I recognize
Just as if it were a memory I know the other side

And the sun will set again tonight
Oh, how I′ll be surprised
How might I rephrase
How'd I put it yesterday
If tomorrow be the same
What of time?
What of time?
