I was so hurt by one lady′s words
My heart got broken then and from that day it didn't work
My soul got empty and life′s lost all its sense...
I lost my happiness, my foes and my friends!

She didn't like a song that I wrote!
She said it was full of boring tragedy
That it was a monotonous melody
And my voice - it was just a bad parody

That my song was not satisfying requirements
That my ignorance sticks out a mile
And that I don't know what it really is
A true, satisfying requirements
"Dark cabaret style"

Here comes a lonely day
It brings oppressive night
And I just want to say
"Dark cabaret inside!"


Because I′m standing here
I′m singing to you, my dear!
You should give it a fair trial
Is it really a cabaret style?

I think there is more than enough
To become part of this stuff!
To satisfy everyone here.

And now I need to say something having no connection with music
It is the dark-cabaret style, isn't it?
I′m just talking - "La-la-la" while the music is rocking
I'm just against the background. And nobody cares what I′m talking about...
And I forgot that I should say these words, you know, with а terrible accent
So is it a true dark cabaret style?

Stereotyped refrains

For some it may sound like disgusting noise
Cause it is sung at times in an ugly voice
This music includes decadent notes
And hard-to-pronounce unintelligible words
Here come jokes told with a serious face!
And each contains a vulgar rude phrase
And if you′re a charlatan or even a mage
Don't worry: you are part of this stage!

I can play songs like this every day
Primitive songs to keep "true" cabaret way
But I would rather sing songs that I like!
