Timber Ridge Songtext

Timber Ridge Songtext

Oooooooo
Up the mountainside
Is a place I′ve come to know
Past the road's end
Down from the cliffs and the snows

A place that′s still wild and full of danger
A place where trees are taller than the sky
A place where men are tested by their nature
A place where one
One can live
And one can die

Ooooooo

I used to take my true love, up to there
Swim in the streams
That flowed long like her hair

Just up the rocky trail from Firehole Canyon
You'll still see our names carved into the stone
A testament to love's abandon
Like a grave marker
The letters lasted longer
Than the bone

Ooooooo

What would I give to be back with my beloved
What, would a man
Do for the one
That he loved

Up Timber′s cliffs my friend and I′d go climbing
On ledges
Protruding just a smidge
And I am not a fool who wished for dying
But now a man
Is buried up on
Timber Ridge

'Though with you I long to be
The stars are here to keep me company
I′ve crossed
The Milky Way Bridge
I no longer feel the pain
And I will see you again
In your dreams
I'll meet you up at
Timber Ridge

Ooooooo

Up the mountainside
Is a place I′ve come to know
Past my life's end
Below the cliffs
A secret stows

I used to wonder why he pushed me off that ledge
Until he brought my sweetheart hand in glove
To see the place he told her I′d slipped off that ledge
Now I know
What a man
Will do for love

Ahhhhhhh

On Timber Ridge
On Timber Ridge
On Timber Ridge
On Timber Ridge
On Timber Ridge
Ahhhhhhh
On Timber Ridge
