The Long Wait Songtext

The Long Wait Songtext

I wake up at eight every single day
I draw the curtains aside and greet a new dawn with a smile
I drink five cups of coffee, and smoke two cigarettes
I sit on the window sill, and watch the people pass me by

Then I turn on the tv, and the radio
Though I hate those morning shows

And I wait like I′ve been doing for weeks
You see killing time, doesn't bother me
Yeah I wait like I′ve been doing for, doing for weeks
For somebody to discover me

I walk around, these crowded city streets
I see my money vanishing, into thin air
I come home... I got everything I need
And I know there's someone for me somewhere

Then I turn on the tv, and the radio
Though I know there's nothing on

And I wait like I′ve been doing for weeks
You see killing time doesn′t bother me
Yeah I wait like I've been doing for, doing for weeks
For somebody to discover me

Then I play my favourite song the one I wrote for so many years
Just to hear it fall on deaf ears
Deaf ears

I play my favourite song
I play my favourite song
I play my favourite song
I play my favourite song
I play my favourite song
I play my favourite song
I play my favourite song
Play my favourite song
