When The Cat's Away Songtext

When The Cat's Away Songtext
She called me up to say they called her out of town
Headed to New York, in the airport now
I said don′t worry a bit, now darlin' I′ll be okay
Knowing in my heart while the cat's away the mouse is bound to play
Soon as we hung up, I broke into a smile
Started making plans, yes sir, for running hog wild
I called my buddies up, I reckon just to say
Eat your heart out boys, while the
Cat's away the mouse is bound to play
I took a swig of milk right out of the jug
Went to the bathroom, left the lid straight up
Tracked mud across the living room
And never even thought about getting a broom
I lit a big cigar and smoked her in the house
Ate a bag of chips right on that brand new couch
If she could see me now, oh Lord there′d be hell to pay
But that′s the way it goes, 'cause while
The cat′s away the mouse is bound to play
I drove down to Jimmy's Hideaway
And ordered up the Cajun fried catfish plate
And boys I never even blinked an eye
When I had him bring a slice of that coconut pie
Tomorrow she′ll come home and I'll walk the line
Crawl back in that hole, yes ma′am, where I spend most my time
If she sniffs around and finds I've gone astray
Well what does she expect? While the
Cat's away the mouse is bound to play
Eat your heart out boys, while the
Cat′s away the mouse is bound to play
Headed to New York, in the airport now
I said don′t worry a bit, now darlin' I′ll be okay
Knowing in my heart while the cat's away the mouse is bound to play
Soon as we hung up, I broke into a smile
Started making plans, yes sir, for running hog wild
