Do U Remember? Songtext
von Brain Damage meets Vibronics feat. Sir Jean

World War I

Roots and culture

World War II

Talking about history
Do you remember those African soldiers fighting for your freedom?
Vibrant next

We come to educate the youths
Brain damage
Why you?
Vision
Don′t miss it
We come to educate the youths once again
You never mention those African soldiers fighting for your freedom
Tell them another story

And me say one, World War I
And me say two, World War II
Do you remember those African soldiers who died for your freedom?
And me say one, why you why?
And me say one, why you why?
You never mention those African soldiers who died for your freedom

But when you pick up the fallen soldiers you not name them at all
Me check out your walls and monuments me no see them at all
Memorial days a come and you no call them at all
Me check out your books of history me no see them at all
It is a shame
You don't remember them
Dem have given dem youths and dem life just for your freedom

I come to call out their names
And put a little light on them
The dancehalls come to call out their names
And put a little light on them
The African dancehalls come to call their names
And put a little light on them
Lord have mercy
And put a little light on them

And me say one, World War I
And me say two, World War II
Do you remember those African soldiers who died for your freedom?
And me say one, why you why?
And me say one, why you why?
You never mention those African soldiers who died for your freedom

Bayonets, fix
B company, fire
African soldiers on the wire
They were Senegalese, Moroccan or Algerian
They were young, beautiful and full of strength
They were lions trodding on the battlefield
Now they′re lying in complete oblivion
Do you ever ever remember them?
The dancehalls come to call out their names
And put a little light on them

And put a little light on them

And me say one, World War I
And me say two, World War II
Do you remember those African soldiers who died for your freedom?

They were fighting with glory

Forgotten at the moment of victory
Why you use them as manpower?
African warriors
Courageous soldiers
African fighters on the front line
But in all your books them no have a single line
So we come fi make the glory shine
Me say the medal of merit haffi shine

One, World War I
And me say two, World War II
Do you remember those African soldiers who died for your freedom?
Tell them another story

Me say two, World War II
And me say oh, World War II
Do you remember those African soldiers who died for your freedom?
And me say one, World War I
And me say two, World War II
Do you remember those African soldiers who died for your freedom?
And me say one, why you why?
And me say one, why you why?
You never mention those African soldiers who died for your freedom
