That golden morning needed no words, it was all bright yet muddy
I felt lost before I actually was
It was just my shame

Watching each other′s steps from afar
We grew missing our broad smiles
Who's gonna give us that back
Nobody can change that past
We did the best with what we had
Even though it was just a game of pretend


White blooms pierced by cold shadows in a far away corner
We used to hurt each other so bad
As to not lose track of what was ours
But we got carried further and further away

Somehow though, even though it′s ironic
Taking the long road made it clear
Freedom lasts more when it's not imposed
So I won't ask why anymore
Forgiving feels like ripping a piece of me
Like a self-betrayal after all the shadows that you cast upon us
But it′s not for you, it′s for myself
I won't trade sunny years for a gloomy day
