There′s so much going on around these days
It all gets in my way
I get distracted and I cannot link a thought

Like I was talking to a friend last night
She kept scolding me
She said she hadn′t seen hide or hair of me
Since 1993
But then again
I think I just met her last week
Two months ago I had a real fine day My girlfriend said she would forever stay
And I got a promotion
But something here doesn't quite fit in
I haven't had a girl or a job in

Now I know I gotta get myself
Together and I try
But then I take a look at what goes on around
And everything I see
Makes me believe
