Something Real Songtext
von Billy Zach

Something Real Songtext

I was down my local pub, when this old acquaintance came up,
Cigarette in one so called GT in the other.
Lately wearing expensive coats and ties
And he said, nice pub, so real and so traditional,
Just like in the old days and I wondered which old days he might mean,
He seemed so clean
And the he asked what I′m up to, same old, same old
And he was so interested in philosophy and music
Until it became real
And then he laughed: " gotta go back to work, 7 o' clock,
Someone has to do it, but I respect what you′re doing"
But I never believed, why I should do something real?

I never found a proper tone, I never strike a single right note
A major chord, a little smile, a happy line,
A better rhyme and don't cry
And there's a mad king on the loose,
Forgive me love I′m not amused, I feel abused
And everything will contradict,
A blind man′s vision in the mist, is this it?
And see, it's me, I breath, I bleed, I′m needy
No twist, I'm pissed, insist, I′m pissed off, resist

Mirror, mirror am I real?
Am I here for their appeal
Mirror, mirror is this real?

Chosen, chosen, do I care?
Do I give way to despair?
I'm afraid I think that I do care

And there′s nothin real to write about
No lovely flowers in the ground
Is there Something sweet to write about

And everything is fuckin brill
Said he running in the mill
Rolling stone up endless hills

Is there something I don't know?
