Morning lights the room
A room which has no walls
A murmur fills my ears
The sound of distant birds

I walk into a world
Shaped by my own hand
Once in inkwell black
Now a spring and summer land

Hawthorn lights the meadow
Bluebells paint the forest
On the wing, that flight of birds
Is dancing high above


This heartwood made new land
An Eden yet unfound
A sky lit by sun and moon
Arcadia in full wild bloom

Then the light is fading
And the city hum returns
Shade and shadow aren′t the same
Lines once clear are blurred

Woodcut gave me hope
Now I'm cast out and alone
Here beside a fire
Where the flames have flickered out

And inside, a storm is raging
High against the world
Steadfast and determined, I will find a way
Will make my way back home
