An evening pastime
A source of entertainment
Well that′s where I draw the line

I'm not charging by the hour
But you should pay for my time
I could reap a reward or two for you
But it sure ain′t worth a dime

I'm not here to appease your desires
Or lift you from your sleep
I'm not the answer to your questions
Not the one to fulfil your dreams

Oh I thought that this was neutral ground
Not nuclear or toxic - oh
I thought what we had found somehow
Was almost but now we list it oh


I thought it was coincidence
But it turned into fatal tactics
And now I′m left wondering if
It ever meant anything to YOU now

Well I′m not the punchline
Or a magicians pet
I won't reappear in your hat
Each time you forget to pay the vet

I′m not the joker
And this isn't some riddle to unwind

It's not how I′ll spend my time
