Material Possessions Songtext

Where the wildlife dare not tread
Stands the man who was conquered of all
Where the Earth lay in blackened death
Stranded there with no lifeline to call

In the presence of Death′s haunting gaze
A bleeding heart wrapped in shackles and chains
The ideals and love he once held
To the kingship's cold hands his everything fell

Snapped bones and detached heads
Litter the ground we kept
A reminder to my humble heart the village that once stood can never restart

My home reduced to ash
My soul shattered like glass
No mementos for me left to keep from the bodies now piling at my knees

Pure anguish, never-ending
Hopelessness flooding my being
I′d give but anything
Just to feel their sacred touch graze my hand again
My blood drawn cold, a cryptic feeling
Sub-zero slowly approaching
A world without you by my side
Is a world I'd rather see burnt to ash

A slight glance is all it will take
To witness the terror and all that remains
Of an existence once peaceful, deprived of all hate
Til the king had his way
On the outside the skin boasting scars, the inside still bruising, the heart won't restart
Emotions are heinous with evil compelled
The roaring through heaven can be heard from hell

My blood erased, my kindred are slaughtered a tear rides my face
Material possessions that lie in the rubble are all I have left
With them to my name
I offer them forward to any entity that is willing to trade so my beloved return to me
And vanquish my pain
