Nursery Songtext

Nursery Songtext

I dropped my daughter off at nursery
I hung her coat up, kissed her cheek
But she gripped hold of me with all of her body
And started crying, "Please don′t leave"

All of the smalls
Accepted heartbreaks
That you must swallow down like bitter medicine
All of the hurts
That you must go through
So commonly felt that not valid anymore

They say it's best to keep your goodbyes brief
I say "I love you," then I go
My heart′s beating hard, waiting for her tears to stop
Feeling exhausted, I walk home

All of the smalls
Accepted heartbreaks
That you must swallow down like bitter medicine
All of the hurts
That you must go through
So commonly felt that not valid anymore
It breaks you down

She still finds it hard to say goodbye
As soon as I'm out of her sight
She gets on with it
Been making friends with the other kids
They tell me that she's doing fine

All of the smalls
Accepted heartbreaks
That you must swallow down like bitter medicine
All of the hurts
That you must go through
So commonly felt that not valid anymore

All of the guilt
That you feel daily
That you′re failing in some way you can′t determine
All of the pain
That you must handle
Pales in comparison to the love in your heart
The love in your heart
The love in your heart
The love in your heart
