Down South Songtext
von Basement Saints

When the nights grow long and colder
Duffle bag over my shoulder
Like a bird, I′ll go down under
Locked on like a heat-seeker

Sunrays shimmer on the waves
Southern wind inside my sails
Tan lines and summer smiles
Bonfire by the seaside

I'm on my way
Down south
′Cause I knew just
That's where I wanna be right now

I'm on my way
Down south
′Cause I knew just
That′s where I wanna be right now

Bare feet on golden sand
Cocktails in high demand
Fair winds and following seas
Sunshine is guaranteed

Seagulls singing in my ears
This is how I wanna spend my years
Cold beer sweating in my hand
A light buzz and nothing planned

I'm on my way
Down south
′Cause I knew just
That's where I wanna be right now

I′m on my way
Down south
'Cause I knew just
That′s where I wanna be right now

I'm on my way
Down south
'Cause I knew just
That′s where I wanna be right now

I′m on my way
Down south
'Cause I knew just
That′s where I wanna be right now

I'm on my way
Down south
′Cause I knew just
That's where I wanna be right now

I′m on my way
Down south
'Cause I knew just
That's where I wanna be right now
