When I was 9 I found a rabbit′s foot
Beside the road you told me not to look
You hoped I didn't see the rest of him
Didn′t see the wheel had squashed him thin

Now I'm lucky all of the time
I've felt it my whole life

The neighbour asked what I was whining for
Haven′t you seen this kind of thing before
We dried the foot turned it to apple skin
No oxygen to let the good stuff in

I had a feeling it′s not meant for me
Now I'm scared that it will never leave

I thought I saw him by the willow tree
I know his shadow gets a little shorter
