Backwards Baby Songtext
von Asha Jefferies

On my front where I laid
And I patiently waited
I was younger then
I held things in
Did my best not to look
Thinking maybe I could
Give you pastures, baby
Grass is greener, dummy

Yours, I was yours
I was sure, I was yours
You were always looking backwards, baby
Backwards, baby
Yours, I was yours
I was sure, I was yours
You were always looking backwards, baby
There goes my backwards baby

Slipping through all the cracks
You want what you once had
To some golden age
To the lighthouse, babe
She was there in your mouth
Like soil in the ground
God what lies did you tell
To keep reaching on out

Yours, I was yours
I was sure, I was yours
You were always looking backwards, baby
Backwards, baby
Yours, I was yours
I was sure, I was yours
You were always looking backwards, baby
There goes my backwards, baby
There goes my backwards, baby

Baby wanted more
Pour it down the sink
You′re loving in reverse, ain't changing
Baby wasn′t sure
Couldn't be convinced
Your loving is a world worth saving
Baby wasn't sure
But baby wanted more

Yours, I was yours
I was sure, I was yours
You were always looking backwards, baby
Backwards, baby
Yours, I was yours
I was sure, I was yours
You were always looking backwards, baby
There goes my backwards, baby

There goes my backwards, baby
There goes my backwards, baby
There goes my backwards, baby

On my front where I laid
And I patiently waited
I was younger then
I held things in
