What do I live for?
Is it fame, success, or acceptance?
To find my place; to be an impacting sound?
What if none of it matters in the end?
We all return to the same hollow ground
If this is the truth then I want to be a foundation
So that when I′m gone
I can lead the way for others to follow and do the same
There's got to be more than building path for others to ignore
To be passed by, just taken for granted
I need a purpose, something to believe in
I′m seeking direction, not perfection
So that I can have some sort of hold
In this world that's grown so cold
I'm searching for something that can supply me with a fire
That can take this mess of a life
And make it right in Your own eyes
Why must I be held down by my own insecurities?
Every time I put my best foot out
I′m always brought right back to my knees


Is it a matter of pride?
Or am I too scared to see that I can′t do this on my own
And that I need more than just me
I've gotta find that spark to be a catalyst inside of my heart
I′m seeking direction, not perfection
So that I can have some sort of hold
In this world that's grown so cold
I′m searching for something that can supply me
Aith a fire that can take this mess of a life
And make it right in Your own eyes
It's not a matter of finding my place
It′s where I've been, people I've met
That make this more than a phase
Can′t see where I′m headed but I won't regret it
Everything has a purpose and a time
And place and I won′t fear my fate
I'll take on everything with this new life that You bring
