In times of trial to
You we run but when the clouds clear
We′re looking to the wrong, son
Because we've lost our way, there′s no turning back
We've strayed too far, we've strayed too far from the path
It′s in our blood to turn to the likes of Cain
Not by fate, but by the choices that we made
You think we′re here by chance?
Your heart has been here ever since you took that second glance
It's a battle that continues to grow
It will soon decide who reigns in your soul
Will we ever find a way to let it go; to make it home?
Will we ever seek what′s right
And come to decide who controls our lives
So who will you fight for?
Everyday you have a chance to make new of what has come to pass
We're granted this gift yet fail to see that it′s only by His grace that we can breathe
Don't take anything for granted
Everything we have comes at a cost
We have done nothing to gain it
It′s given to us only through his great loss
Will we ever find a way to let it go; to make it home?
Will we ever seek what's right
And come to decide who controls our lives
We are worth so much more than we think we are
'Cause by our own will we always fall short
But by God′s grace he can heal our scars
The work has been done
Our debt has been paid
Our sins have been conquered and taken to the grave
A Son of a King
A resurrected hope
A reason to live for a better tomorrow
