The Bone Carver Songtext
von And Also the Trees

The carver of bone
Shakes the head
A mouth and a nose
The jackal′s spine
Curved by the fire's sign

A buffalo runs across the plain
She walks through the rain
A seagull′s distant wail

Shining gold
Shining gold

The carver of bone
Oh leave me here
Tap dripping on the fire
Moonlight on the street
Backwards somersaulting home

The carver of bone
Tilts the head
An eye that roams
The samovar in the corner sighs
A whale's skull
Brought by the giving tide

Shining gold

A drying clothe

Oh leave me here
Tap dripping on the fire
Moonlight on the street

The worker's feet going home

The carver of bone
