View From Up Here Songtext
von Ancient Empire

A spinning ball of perfect blue
Suspended in the icy black
My mother holds me here on high
Circling in an infinite track
There′s beauty in the constancy
Of a nighttime never ending

I was once like all of you
Now I float above it all
This serenity is my domain
I know one day I'll return
This ship my only home
If only I could find a way

On the surface life goes on
The race from birth to death
Fighting, loving, struggling
Until your final breath
If you could see what I see
You′d feel no hate or fear
All our problems seem so small
When they're viewed from way up here

Light flashes through the glass
Strange reflections in my eyes
Satellites are dark, communication dead
Below me the cities burn
And fire consumes the earth
Am I the only witness to the end?

When my fuel is spent
My orbit will decay
I'll burn up on re-entry
More ashes on a cinder
The rest of my life
Now just moments in time
No chance for rescue
I can only, only accept my fate

On the surface life goes on
The race from birth to death
Fighting, loving, struggling
Until your final breath
If you could see what I see
You′d feel no hate or fear
All our problems seem so small
All our problems seem so small
When they′re viewed from way up here
