Sunrise Songtext

Sunrise Songtext
The sky turns red, but I stay gray
Another night just slips away
The light breaks in, but I remain
A soul untouched by sun or rain
The world begins, the clocks all spin
But I can′t find a way back in
Sunrise means the world moves on
But all I love is dead or gone
You flood the streets with gold and blue
But none of that feels real or true
Sunrise means I face the light
While everything inside turns night
You rise again like you don't know
That I′ve got nowhere left to go
The birds still sing, the coffee brews
The morning hides the evening news
But nothing warm can reach me here
I only breathe, I don't appear
You kiss the trees, the hills, the stone
But leave this heart of mine alone
Sunrise means the lies begin
The ones we paint upon our skin
You light the sky, you charm the day
But all my colors fade to gray
Sunrise means I fake a smile
And wear it just to last a while
But deep beneath your glowing face
I'm stuck inside a silent place
I used to think you meant a start
A chance to mend a tired heart
But now you shine and all I see
Is one more day without relief
Sunrise means the dream has died
And I wake up with none inside
You chase the dark, you flood the floor
But I′m not standing at the door
Sunrise means I′ve lost the fight
Another day, no end in sight
You come with gold, but leave me cold
A story I no longer hold
Another night just slips away
The light breaks in, but I remain
A soul untouched by sun or rain
The world begins, the clocks all spin
But I can′t find a way back in
Sunrise means the world moves on
But all I love is dead or gone
You flood the streets with gold and blue
But none of that feels real or true
Sunrise means I face the light
While everything inside turns night
You rise again like you don't know
That I′ve got nowhere left to go
The birds still sing, the coffee brews
The morning hides the evening news
But nothing warm can reach me here
I only breathe, I don't appear
You kiss the trees, the hills, the stone
But leave this heart of mine alone
Sunrise means the lies begin
The ones we paint upon our skin
You light the sky, you charm the day
But all my colors fade to gray
Sunrise means I fake a smile
And wear it just to last a while
But deep beneath your glowing face
