Dumb Waiter Songtext

Dumb Waiter Songtext

Been about a week since the news stopped coming
Tired of the wait and I can′t stop shaking
Violently I'm running through the rain as the thunder′s drumming
Down to the beach for a final taking
We found a bar room floor worth breaking in

Though I know a vicious tide approaches
I'll hold the umbrella 'til the very last dance
Keeping all the raindrops from their noses
Bailing out the puddles with my very own hands

Maybe it′d be better if I told the master
But he doesn′t need to bother 'bout a soldier dying
Violently I hid the last letter by the last pilaster
Under my guard there′ll be no crying
Down at the beach as the waves come sighing in

The sky is pounding
Spelling out a history once shrouded now
Resounding
Finding its way to the South Pacific, oh no
It's gonna move a mountain
Flooding out the hearts of the ones I′ve tended the most
Now I'm counting
Down the days ′til they fill my veins with justice

Though I know a vicious tide approaches
I'll hold the umbrella 'til the very last dance
Keeping all the raindrops from their noses
Bailing out the puddles with my very own hands
