Once upon a wind she came
Like a morning bird
Singing out a sweet refrain
Like none you′d ever heard
Her sister lived in the city
Not much room to spare
A foldaway in the corner
She'd be welcome there
Stone beauty plain as the sunlight
To anyone
It was sure to come her way
Oh, but for that strange syncopation


Her broken sense of time
I′d wait for her in the station
She'd be running behind
She always ran behind
Stone beauty plain as the sunlight
To anyone
All that could have come her way
How I ever thought I could fix her
The question lingers on
Once upon a wind she came
And on the wind she's gone
Like a morning bird
