Dead London Songtext

Out of the ruins we were crawling
The second strike really made us realize
They had come from afar without warning
Feeding off the deaths of you and I

On the streets I was running from the fire
I was heading for the River Thames
Seeking shelter in the cooling water
Out of sight for the aliens
Heavy mothership hanging over like a shadow
Sending evil down to seal our fate
Great Big Ben, have you struck your final hour
I was thinking this could be the end

Dead London - burning down to the crust
Dead London - raining ashes and dust
In London Town - people on the ground
Dead London - I was hoping not to be found
Had to move without a sound
It was the day we lost the crown

Piccadilly silent in the morning
No more sound from the tube at King′s Cross
I met survivors by the Waterloo Station
We were joining forces to avenge our loss
I was running with a gun in the backstreets
When something came sliding fast from above
Neon slime drizzling down from that long jawed creature
As I fired my final round, it came crashing down
And they were all around

Dead London - in the war of the worlds
Dead London - we were trapped and cursed
In London Town - going underground
Dead London - it was the day we lost the crown

Now we're searching for the truth and information
On why they came from far beyond the sun
When looking back it seems a desperate operation
To take the Earth and then decide to run
Some say they came from a planet that was dying
And they knew the life of you and I
Like a movie I can still see them flying
The inferno would illuminate the sky
But they were doomed to slowly die

Dead London - rising after the fall
Dead London - rebuilding houses and halls
In London Town - bringing back the sound of London
We had taken back the crown
We were lost and found in London Town (London Town)
I see smiles abound
