Chose an easy rhyme to fill these moments of your time
I tried to keep between the line, looking forward and behind
I studied highway archeology, poetry and rhythm
As I'm tapping in the forniac this moment of expression
It's evolving and dissolving, connecting and exploding,
Building up and then eroding
It's the end and I keep rolling
I played a skinny, indie white boy blues in a scuffed up military style shoes
I'm a convenient store connoisseur
On a broken shoestring budget tour


Flap or float, just barley float
Sing it fast and now get them all
Get no one knows success
It's soon forgotten, put to rest
We crossed this country a million times
Trillion roads, gazillion signs
A re-enactment is this life
These words are just a bite from all those heroes that I heard
Just paraphrasing words
To leave behind a song,

Driven fourteen hours

Hearing on fingernails and tapping on that screen


And it's a cold bleak night as the poles bleeding light
Detroit's abandoned no casinos in my sight
Got to kill my time
I'm a ghost out on these streets
I'll be sleeping in my truck tonight
And not sleeping in your ice cold sheets

Got a scrambled heart, it's a little over cooked
Got a novel full of wishes missing from your book
There's no insurance in this life
No protection from the night
Too many rules and no direction
You walk under a knife
It's just this temporality, creating fleeting moments
If your lacking in permanent
