He was a smart and lovin′ hearted young man,
Makes it hard to understand,
He was so talented, intellegent,
Above all this he was a friend,
He still had so very much to live for,
Somebody please tell me why,
Oh if I had only tried to give more,
Maybe he'd still be alright


Later should I take a look into the mirror as I see,
My own reflection laugh at me,
I′d try to help but find myself way too weak,
I had just enough to save me,
I still have so very much to give him,
Somebody please tell me how,
How could it be that they got him to listen,
To them and that I would allow

There will come a day eventually,
There will come a day we'll all be free,
There will come a day our souls will heal,
There will come a day for both of us,
A day when we will grow from broken trust,
Someday we gonn' find new hope in us
